That proves OSU was never in the discussion for the top 4.

ESPN reveals the top three then breaks away to further debate #4. Never change, guys.

That show was fucking brutal. First of all, why do they have 4 hours of talking before the revealing? How long do you need to debate a couple teams?

Second, JUST REVEAL THE FUCKING TEAMS

Lastly, The committee can suck a dick. Georgia over OSU.

If I'm OSU, I'm doing everything I can to screw over the NCAA

In the long run, back to back years of OSU 11-1 and not making it might propel a change to 6/8.

Aren't they locked in for like 10 years?

Can't say I'm surprised it was Oklahoma. Higher ranked coming in to this week and OSU didn't do enough yesterday to pass them. Being behind Georgia, on the other hand, I don't get. Two losses and a shit non-conference schedule (when Middle Tennessee State is your marquee out-of-conference opponent, you only deserve ridicule) don't say #5 to me, but SEC! SEC! SEC! nut-hugging never goes out of style, it seems.

The depressing thing to me is that, because of tradition, OSU gets relegated to playing a shit PAC-12 team in the Rose Bowl instead of real competition. Kirby Smart can babble about how Georgia is the team no one wants to face, but I'd rather go against them than Washington, where it's either "meh, you won because you were easily supposed to" or "you lost to THAT?!?!?!" Winding up playing them is like waking up hoping for a steak dinner and getting a McDonald's burger instead.

Bama opens as 14.5 favorites... awesome. Notre Dame should not be in until they join a conference. Georgia over OSU is a joke.

Twitter/FB....everything sports is miserable

ND isn’t the 3rd best team and its idiotic 12-1 OSU doesn’t have an opportunity to win it all. Dumb and easily fixable.

Im not sure how good Clemson is so watch ND get a few calls and bounces and keep it tight and then Clemson does the same vs Bama.

I’m done. Moving on.

The NCAA doesn't govern the the FBS with respect to how the playoff is handled.  Also isn't called an NCAA championship.

Maybe, but that wouldn’t matter if people raise enough voices. Plus, wouldn’t effect the bowls, as the first round would be home games.

I just looked at the slate of bowl games for the next 4-5 weeks.  Talk about a sad bunch of games.  Besides the playoffs and a few select bowls, who in the world has any interest in about 90% of those games.  College football's postseason is sad considering how beloved the sport is overally.  These minor bowl games are like high school games - only the players and their parents will likely have any interest.

As for OSU not getting into the playoff.  I'm disappointed for sure. But Ohio State's loss to Purdue is impossible to look past.  Had Georgia or Oklahoma either lost a game like that to a team like that, Ohio State fans would be rightly angry about being passed over by either.  But there is just no way to overlook it.  Maybe it will be motivation to avoid a loss like that for a third straight year.

This is why I hate the "WeLl Wat AbOuT TeH BoWl GaMes?!?!" argument when you're debating playoff expansion.

You're telling me you rather save a few meaningless bowl games instead of adding a couple more meaninfull college games?

What is sad are the amount of players skipping bowl games, expanding the playoffs would only continue to make the bowls lesser. The reason this is bad is because you're going to continue losing parity as essentially the only thing that matters is making the playoffs, so all of your top recruits are going to go to only a handful of schools. Just look at the landscape of college football since its inception, OSU-Alabama-Clemson-Oklahoma have dominated their conferences and are in the discussion on a regular basis. Everyone talks about how FCS has one, they also have North Dakota State and James Madison in the finals every single year

there have been 518 total appearances in the fcs playoff.

james madison is responsible for 15 of those appearances

north dakota state is responsible for 9 of those appearances

those are simply appearances, not championship wins.

so no, you're wrong. like normal. shut up.

Yes, I am sure expanding the playoffs is what would keep schools like Bowling Green down.
