And in a nutshell, there is THE problem: fatherless kids.
Can't say that without being called racist.

A mother her toddler and her nephew took a wrong turn and ended up in a street where the police and protesters were clashing. She tried to turn around and the cops broke out all her windows and arrested her and her nephew who was 16. They snatched her toddler out of the backseat and then the union posted this photo with her son which they later deleted and released her without charges

Gonna have to post the summary of the article. Not paying $ to subscribe to it.

If true, terrible.
Not so sure coming from WaPo but if true it is terrible.
Funny you make sure to post that story though but ignore the violence committed by the riots and looters in Philly, things like murder aren’t as important as a false police post and arrest though right Gee?
Whatever to get your narrative out...

It's hard to believe that something could go wrong taking a toddler to a BLM riot.

Lol the title of the thread is police trashiness.. I have condemned looting and rioting 400 times. I hold police to a higher standard than criminals every time tho

I guess u missed the part that said she was just driving home and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I guess she deserved it
posted by geeblockAnd I don't get bent out of shape when they shoot criminals....which is most of the time people riot for. The world will be a better place when dickheads stop rioting because dickheads got shot being dickheads.I hold police to a higher standard than criminals every time tho

I guess that I'm skeptical of her story, but let's go with the assumption that it is true. Then, the police made a mistake. BLM turned Philly into a warzone that night. You have never called out BLM for any of their terrible actions.

No one should have to condemn rioting and looting it a given.

I think everyone wants better out of police. The problem is: there are bad people in every aspect of life and profession. Why would the police force be any different? It's not excusing them, but throwing the whole bushel of apples out just because of a couple bad ones makes no sense.
How can we ensure there are fewer bad people in law enforcement than any other part of life?

I think it starts by not letting them investigate themselves when something happens.

That would be #1 as far as improving things. There's nothing like the old "We reviewed our actions and found nothing wrong!" line to really fuck up the whole "trust these guys to do the right thing in situations" concept.

Be more selective by having fewer cops by having fewer things be a crime (drugs, for example).
