posted by gutLOL, all these massive traffic jams to protest lockdowns.....how many people found themselves in the middle of one of these before they realized "this was a really fucking bad idea!" Then a few minutes later it dawns on you "everything is closed - how are people going the bathroom?!?"
I have to wonder how many of the people at these protests blocking traffic were the ones bitching about the climate protestors doing the same thing in October under the auspices of it being selfish and harming to regular people.
SHIT IT GOT VON MILLER
Trump’s presser was refreshing to watch, knowing that things will start up again soon. I hope everyone doesn’t just rush to go hang out in massive groups right away, but it’s definitely good to see this is starting to decline and we can start getting back to some normalcy.

I would never block traffic, but I don’t see them comparable at all. One is a bunch of nut bags, the others are protesting the constitution and freedoms. Either way, I’d never do it bc it’s retarded.
posted by SpockYou sure there? Everytime?
I hate when anyone outside of SC flies that thing. Its pure racism anywhere but there. Lets not put all the deplorables into the same Rebel flag racism group
Every single NASCAR race and country music festival is filled with people flying these two next to each other. It isn't all of the deplorables (as you say), but there is definitely a large contingent.
I think they need to slowly allow people to do things. Gatherings with friends and family for another few weeks is a good start. Something like, "if your friends and family have been following the precautions as you, its now ok to gather together" or something like that. Then start allowing people to eat at restaurants with less capacity to abide by social distancing. Some sort of gradual back to normal I think would stem a secondary spike. If you just "open it all back up" we are gonna be right back here in 3 months times. Id much rather be given back some of my liberties slowly to make sure we arent back here again.

They don't think they're nut bags at all.
As for those criticizing them for blocking traffic, most did so because of the blocking traffic. Not to deny them the right to assemble and protest.
I agree, though. Blocking traffic is dumb and selfish.
So I look at the Ohio site everyday, and I think the cause is Ohio’s shitty reporting. The daily new cases seem to change every for about 2 weeks. Then it levels off. So it looks like places are taking up to ~14 days to report cases.
for example.... we had 623 new cases yesterday but only 18 were reported yesterday. The rest were backfilled on past days. Ohio is kinda shitty on this part. Maybe other states are too? I don’t know ?
It sucks that, as we start to ramp things up again, you and your friends could do a great job of responsibly limiting gatherings... But all it takes is one idiot who goes to a house party, joins your small group event, and all of a sudden you've got a dozen new asymptomatic carries who spread it to their own work and friend groups. The singular morons have an incredible ability to fuck it up again.

Couldn't it just as easily be spread accidentally by someone at a small group event who picked it up at the grocery store by someone who didn't realize they had it, which then gets spread to another small group event, and so on, and so on?
This scenario doesn't take a giant house party to spread like crazy.
I cant stand listening to that Acton lady. She sounds like she doent even know what she is talking about.
As for cases and testing, she said something a few days ago that struck me as odd.....when talking about new cases she said something to the affect:
"the way that we are classifying new cases and counting "possible" cases make the numbers go up"
So basically she wants anyone that has symptoms to be coded as positive regardless of testing or not.

I bet you can multiply those numbers by 5 or 6 and you might get close. Adding a few thousand now is just white washing .

I would guess all of them.

The reason for the huge spike in deaths the last few days for the whole country is because now we report COVID-19 deaths as anyone they SUSPECT died from it. No need to confirm with a test first.
New York City added something like 6000 deaths in the last couple days all from "suspected" cases, not confirmed.
Wait.
I thought we were supposed to be seeing 10K new cases/day in Ohio by now.....
I'm seeing so many dumbass posts regarding that.
"IF YOU DIED IN A CAR WRECK, BUT YOU HAD COVID, THEY LIST CAUSE OF DEATH AS COVID! OMG BS!!"
I get how it would rustle some jimmies, but bottom line. If you had a prexisting condition and you got the rona, you died from it. It's not hard.
Some not so good news, my friends grandfather passed last week. From Westchester. Mid-70s, in decent health from what I was told. She wasn't able to see him at the end :/
