My family will have our regular Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings this year for whoever chooses to come. As many of you have already seen me state, my mother has Alz and myriad physical disabilities. While she still knows who her family members are she will get to spend time with them, hug them.

Whatever time she has left on this earth will be a life worth living. I've thought a long time about this and consulted with various family members, not to mention her GP. As her primary caretaker and daughter, it is a difficult decision to make the judgement call of where the fine line is between safety and cruelty in this unique situation.

So the call fell to me to make the final decision.

I'm making the desserts again.

When I lived in Kansas I almost didn’t fly back for Christmas and Thanksgiving a year because money was tight for me. I’m so glad I did because my dad passed away unexpectedly in January. I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I let money get in the way of the last Holidays with my dad. I applaud your decision letting her have what might be her last holiday with family she can remember during this time. Good luck and enjoy your holiday.

I too will be having Thanksgiving with my family. I've been around them off-and-on since March. I have on living grandparent left, who is already having pretty sad mental health issues. No way am I missing important holidays with time with my family, and they are the same way. No way would any of my family members want to miss family time over the virus. My mom was a county health nurse for many years, and retired from a separate county health department a few years ago.

After the holiday, it'll be deer season. Which I finally get to partake in for the first time in 10 years or so -- and that was only a day or two then. This is my first real deer season with my family since 2002. It will be much-needed, quality family time for our family.

So I got the call today. I’m getting a vaccine or placebo on Monday. I’m part of the AZ1222 study.  I still gotta go over the details but I’m 90% sure I will participate. If you were chosen would you participate.?

21 day curfew starting Thursday. Businesses closed 10pm til 5am, DeWine asking people to stay home during that time, too.

A curfew. LOL. DeWine's is going to be shocked when that does absolutely nothing to slow the spread. And then he's going to talk down to us even harder.

If I find I have nothing to do for 21 straight days, then sure. Odds of that happening are about negative-100%, though!

I think DeWine knows it’s stupid. He probably needs to do something and this is the best he can do. Cant really stop people from hanging out in private but also can’t shut down businesses because of the consequences involved in that. No good option.

So WTF has changed except I have to finish my last beer at the bar at 9:59 instead of 10:15

Thankfully dealing with deadly infectious diseases was not a major issue in the daily lives of those living in the late 18th century.  Who knows what limits to personal liberty they may have written into the founding documents.

This contact tracing is freaking wacko, and completely absurd.  It is running train through everything more than COVID is.

My nephew may have been exposed on the school bus. A kid on his bus tested positive but he didn’t take the bus on Monday or Friday so the school is going to give them more information later.

We were going to go to their house for Thanksgiving but after this my wife and I decided we would just buy a Thanksgiving dinner meal and have my mom over to our house. I go to Vegas the following day and my wife works in corporate retail so she’s working like 16/24 hours of Thanksgiving on her computer anyways so not a big deal.
