Wild boar is fucking delicious. I think I ate about 20lbs of it in Italy. I’d be down for that ending up on my plate haha.

Taste similar to pig?

It’s kinda got a nutty flavor if I recall. Not gamey at all, which was a shock. Really good and honestly, not like any other meat I’ve ever had. Pretty unique.

Hmmm…wouldn’t have guessed.

Wild boar seems quite hill jack

At my school I kinda throw out a title to the kid that just has that rough deep country look to him, usually a pretty tough kid without much at home. Most likely to kill a wild boar. For example I had a kindergarten boy years back and one of the little old lunch ladies asked him what he wanted for Christmas….he said “some boots, a huntin bow and some deer piss” lol

He was the original.

Wild boar? Yes. Cricket pie? No.

Wild boar is definitely fantastic,  but I will not be eating any bugs.

It’s very popular in the regions of Tuscany and Umbria. Google “cinghiale Ragu,” “cinghiale crostini,” “cinghiale e polenta,” and “cinghiale salami.” Look at the images 😋.

The ragu pics mostly looked really good, the crostini looked ok, polenta looked interesting and salami looked good….some pics the meat looked very “strong” if it’s more mild than strong I think I’d like it.

Today I learned.

The Ragu was my first foray into wild boar. Had it in Greve at Castello di Verrazzano winery.
