Nevermind, 1969 and not a HOFer.

    I'd say that's a bingo.

    Question #3

These two HOFers are back to back on the all-time career HR list. The player on top never hit 40+ HR in a season, the player right below him hit 40+ HR 5x.

    Name them.

Ted Williams didn't have many high-number seasons. Could be an option for the first answer.

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:00 AM

    Willie Mays

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:05 AM

More high total, low season options: Musial, Ripken, Murray?

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:11 AM

Ken Griffey Jr and Willie Mays?

I think I remember Mays having 660ish, and I thought KGJ was somewhere around there.

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:12 AM

^ I think Willie hit 50 once. Griffey had several 50+.

I think you are reading it wrong or I worded it bad

No, I got it, though I don't think it hit me until now that one person never got out of the 30s in HRs.. I did whiff big on Willie Mays.

So somewhere in the 400-500 range. Chipper? Frank Thomas? Ernie Banks? I don't know the HR leaders after about the first 10.

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:39 AM

    Murray has like 540-560, right?

    Fri, Apr 10, 2020 9:46 AM

Ok, I cheated again. This was a good one, never would've thought of the other guy. And I was way off on my Murray estimate.
