Might we actually see a case of outrage over "darkface" between those of varying shades of black men?

And Clarence Hill is right.  Colorism matters, and he's exhibiting colorism by insisting that a black man "isn't black enough" to play the role.

A section of our society has officially lost the plot.

Are there really shades of true black?

There is, within the black community, a segment that seems to see each other that way.  A 'light-skinned' black man will be seen as inferior by some, just because his skin isn't as dark as others'.

Some don't see it that way.

None of this is accurate about black people. At the end of the day we are all black. Not sure if u are saying black as a color or a race. No dark skin person sees light skins as inferior I’m assuming that was just a bad word choice. They may joke around that light skins have it easier(which they do) and it is a running joke. But at the end of the day the one drop rule has always been in effect and black is black. We can hate on each other but will always stand up for each other. Before Chicago gets brought up. The game is the game. There are people in the game and there are civilians. The people in the game only see green. As a light skin I can tell you it is just a joke but yes it gets brought up a lot

I'm not saying a light skin isn't seen as black.  If I conveyed that, then yeah, it was me explaining it poorly.

However, between kids fighting about it in the local schools (and spill it over to the youth center), and hearing my neighbors try to shame their son out of dating a lighter girl, it sure seems to be a thing.

I guess I just never would have saw this as a thing to reckon with. I'm just going to roll with the idea that living in an area that's not crowded (bigger towns/cities/suburbs) has its perks - not too many people living close by to bicker with.

I was expecting this statement, though I would have guessed QO would have gotten to it first.

I don’t dabble much on light matters.  But to clarify a bit, if you are on the left now, you have gone full retard (and more).

And how do you figure that?

  • I that guns are NOT the cause of gun violence and that the laws currently on the books are already too strict.
  • I that taxation is, at a fundamental level, theft.
  • I affirm that essentially all tax-funded social programs are wrought with some combination of corrupt bureaucracy and fraud, and I oppose essentially all of them (including the ones you support).
  • I support the right of any business owner to refuse to serve any potential patron for any, or no, reason.
  • I oppose minimum wage entirely.
  • I oppose any and all involvement of government at any level in healthcare funding.
  • I oppose any obligatory insurance requirement.
  • I oppose any sort of forced weighting of the scales based on cultural, ethnic, religious, or socio-economic background.

Tell me, which of these puts me on the left side?

I was replying to the comment about ¼ - ½ of the left having gone full retard.  I was not commenting about you.

Have a good weekend, and hope the tree issue is resolved.

Oh, my apology for the misunderstanding.

The tree issue has basically gone away.  The neighbors are being cold and distant, but I was anticipating that.

I didn't tell them to not insure their biggest asset.

I think this is the thread that everybody was talking about the Jussie Smollet situation? If so, he is in big bad trouble.
