On a base level, she is spot on.  Both claim to serve the great invisible man in the sky. At least the people on the right aren’t the hypocrites here. If they take an oath before god, they are willing to kill and die for a  it. The guys on the left only will do it as a manor of convenience . They will however sacrifice their wives if they get a little old, fat, or something younger and hotter comes along. At least the guys on the right would just add the younguns to their clan

San Francisco has followed up on prohibition of natural gas in new city-owned buildings by extending the ban to all new structures. The measure affects more than 54,000 homes and commercial space spanning 32 million square feet, all of which must be fully electric.

What is the obsession with SF?  It's nothing new that it's a liberal bastion.  It has been for a long, long time.  It's always going to have stuff like this going on.  It's not part of a new trend.  It's been this way since before I was born (1970).  SF ways are not going to spread to where you are - assuming you live somewhere red.  They like it the way it is there.  So what?  If you don't, I would encourage you not to move there.  If the people who live there want it to be that way, more power to them.  But renewed outrage over every story about some progressive measure coming out of SF is mindless.  Why don't you post your outrage at Barrow, Alaska's extreme cold weather - it'd follow the same logic.

I don't disagree, but this is socialism thru executive fiat.

And if it stands, if it survives an onslaught of Big Pharma lobbying money, it's just going to end-up further burdening the taxpayer for R&D costs.

I can't get excited about this when I expect the ultimate result just to be more Big Gubmit - and possibly globally thru WHO - allocating even more R&D Funds.

Ah the old guns vs. butter debate. I've always thought this debate was short sighted and misses the point of defense spending. It is not a 1 for 1 trade.  Eisenhower has some good quotes and remarks on this debate back in the 50s. I've been in my own share of arguments with doves on the topic over the years. 

That said, the F-35 is way overbudget, and the jury is still out if it is worth the price tag.  Also, it is unclear if we will have enough of them.
