Anyone see Annihilation yet? It's playing at the theater I can walk to, I just haven't made time to go see it yet.

Not yet. Tried to go today, but the DMV happened. Looks pretty damn good.

Debating on whether to watch Jumanji or Shape of Water today. I realize Shape of Water is the better film but I really don't know how I will like it outside of Michael Shannon.

Shape of Water is getting a bad rap as “fish porn”. There is 1 damn sex scene lol. It’s a good movie with a pretty good plot. It’s a little weird, but it’s definitely a solid movie.

That said, Jumanji was fucking hilarious.

Ha, I saw a clip where the star was dancing with it. It is obviously a good movie, but I will rent it.

Strangers 2 - 6/10. A fun horror movie. Nothing groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it.

Red Sparrow. 7/10. Entertaining. A little too long. Plot was kinda meh compared to what it could’ve been. Added half a point for Jennifer Lawrence tits.

8.5/10

A couple years ago, a friend and his wife bought me a 9-movie collection of Puppet Master movies. I finally have taken the plunge to try enduring them.

I - 3/10 (pretty boring)

II - 6/10 (of the "so bad it's good" sort)

III - 6/10 (of the "actually decent" sort; decent character actors and Nazis were getting killed; a winning combo!)

IV - 2/10 (blah)

V - 4/10 (basically IV with some neat elements, such as how Maynard from Maynard-n-Zed's rape dungeon from Pulp Fiction had a small role).

Endure 4 more of these things and I think I'll move on to James Bond stuff. Or, really, anything else.

Well for me, I loved Ghostbusters growing up, and it holds up to my memory as a good movie.

Or like Godfather holds up. Obviously great plots and characters and everything, but the movie was very old and didn’t have CG, or a lot of new tricks of the movie industry. But, you watch it, and it doesn’t matter. It still feels realistic and very good.

Then you watch other “classics” and they suck now. For me, Top Gun might be the worst. It’s close to unwatchable for me now.
