Just went through the TSA checkpoint.  Got myself a little extra peepee patdown.  THAT didn't feel like a violation at all.

I think I just engaged in morning foreplay with a father of two girls before 7am.

Thought about telling him to call me daddy.  At least then it would have been as uncomfortable for him as it was for me.

I feel safer.

I'll be volunteering at the beer fest, but likely on Friday night in the VIP area.

Do you know what part of town you're staying in? What price range?

If you happen to go on Saturday let me know.

We are staying near Hyde Park, but location wouldn't stop us from going anywhere.  Preferably a place near bars since we will most likely bar hop after.  $35-$40 (not including alcohol) sounds about right, but I wouldn't know.  I am numb to restaurant prices after living in DC for so long.  I'd take recs below and above that price range as long as it is a good place to eat.

Nice, I lived in Hyde Park for more than 8 years. Are you staying at someone's place or in one of the new hotels over by Rookwood Commons?

If you're going to be in that area I can't not recommend The Growler House (30 taps, great staff, it is our goto beer spot in the city) in East Walnut Hills. O Pie O is a fantastic restaurant next door, but it's pretty small so not sure how easy they could accomodate a group of eight.

OTR is likely your best area if you want to walk from bar to bar and go to more than 2 or 3.

Best beach location within reasonable driving distance (12ish hours) from Ohio for a mid-March trip?

Are you trying to lay on the beach in that time period? I'm not sure if the panhandle of florida (like Panama City) would be warm enough, SC would probably be out too.

My wife wants to be able to relax on the beach, but not necessarily get in the water.

Check to see if anything is happening at the Wharf in Orange Beach. Also The Hangout its a really cool place they normally have good bands playing there. They have a zoo there that is small but kinda nice just to walk through if you like them. Going to the fishing peir and just watching people was cool. Saw some guy catch a small shark once. I've only gone for 4 day weekend type stuff to just get away and relax on the beach so I've never really explored too much of what all is down there.

Thanks, I'll check all of these places out online.

Is Pensacola a worthwhile destination? I'd love to be going during baseball season to catch a Blue Wahoo's game, but it looks pretty nice otherwise.

I've never been to Pensacola... but I've heard its pretty good. I've been to Destin/Fort Walton Beach which is near there and that was a really great though.

Floribama is a solid bar.

Had a buddy get arrested at the Pink Pony and spent 3 days in jail while we were partying on the beach bc he tried to steal a barmat from there.

We were all thrown out of a bar near there called Mudbugs bc one of my buddies wouldn't stop singing kereoke to girl bands. His hits were Natalie Imbruglia, Spice Girls, and Jewel. Jewel was the final straw. ~2006

Didn't take too many pictures in Vegas.  I always forget.

Got a few, though.

Breakfast view from the place we stayed:
Image may contain: 1 person, table, outdoor, nature and water

Morning coffee in a pair of absurd shoes I bought for the evening events (the soles light up, and they look like chrome):
Image may contain: table and outdoor

Couple business associates stayed in one of the villas at the Aria.  I'd never been up there:
Image may contain: indoor

Went to a conference-sponsored Method Man concert:
Image may contain: one or more people, people on stage, people standing, crowd and indoor

Image may contain: 2 people, people on stage, people standing, crowd and indoor

All in all, it was a good time.  Granted, I spent most of it doing work stuff, but I tried a few new restaurants (Golden Steer and the Strip House Steakhouse).

How was the show? I always liked Method Man and Redman back in high school. Blackout! was a top 10 favorite album of my teenage years.

It was cool.  You could tell he'd been doing it a long time, because he was ripping on parts of the crowd all night.  Not only good music, but generally an entertaining guy.

Work is sending me to Europe next week, my first time leaving North America (I’ve done Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean places where cruise ships dock to this point). Visiting a customer in Germany for a day then taking a train back to company headquarters in Belgium for a couple of days. It’s going to be interesting.

Nice. Will you have much time to explore on the trip?
